Federal Reserve Board Appoints Gateway First Bank VP

1.26.2024

TULSA, Okla., January 26, 2024 –– Bruce Schultz, Vice President of Community Development Banking Strategy for Gateway First Bank, has been appointed to serve on the Federal Reserve Board of the Governor’s Community Advisory Council (CAC). Formed in 2015, the CAC offers diverse views focusing on the economic conditions and financial services needs of low- and moderate-income populations. CAC members provide critical input to policymakers at the Federal Reserve regarding the needs of low- and moderate-income communities across the country.

The CAC comprises diverse experts and representatives of consumer, workforce, and community development organizations and interests. Schultz is named along with four other new members selected from a pool of individuals who applied after the Board's call for applications. Each new member will serve a three-year term.

“I am truly honored to have the opportunity to represent the mid-west by providing information, advice, and recommendations to the Board on relevant policy matters and emerging issues of interest,” said Schultz. “Affordable housing is an issue throughout the country that affects the individual and the entire community. I have seen how significant the impact can be when all groups work together to address this issue.”

“Bruce has been a strong part of the Gateway team for almost five years. His thoughtfulness in overseeing our efforts to meet community needs as our Community Reinvestment Act (CRA) Officer has helped the organization strengthen our focus on listening and responding to the needs of the low-to-moderate income members of our community,” said Scott Gesell, Gateway CEO. “In his new role, which is focused on developing a community banking strategy, Bruce will be able to positively impact the community in new ways.”
